Dada is quite possibly the most odd form of art that exists. I cant be sure if the people who made some of these works were traumatized war veterans or depressed common folk living in the urban slums under the thick fog of oppression with little social reform, as this period was at it's height in the mid 1910's. Centering in Germany and Switzerland, I cannot begin to imagine what these people were thinking.

This is the famous "The Fountain" by Mutt. Painted in 1917, it simply is just a fountain that really looks like a toilet. A social work by John Heartfield, this piece was meant to represent how the Nazi party was not only going to chop down the prior regime in Germany but also would not work. This is "Montage" by George Grosz. The question mark on his mind symbolizes how the mind always raises questions against society.
