Postmoderism is described as anything that comes after modernism. It is the period centering in the late 20th century centering in the USA and Britain. During this time, people came up with a vast amount of new techniques such as "modernity." This period was when propaganda became a major form of at, as war and the division between communism and democracy was at its highest. Andy Warhol is one of the famous artists during this time. This is a scene from an early American comic book. During the postmodern era, comic books featuring the grand adventures of superheros or billions became widely popular in not just the US, but all around the world. This is a rather strange piece of Japanese art. This is supposedly a Japanese perspective of famous Minney Mouse, Mickey Mouse's famous companion and love interest. Now we get to my favorite part, art as propaganda. Here, a British women in hold her arms and rallying the RAF to battle. Posters like these encouraged women that they too could help in the war effort by picking up jobs at factories building supplies or working in hospitals as nurses. The famous famous American Uncle Sam. Plastered on every street in the United States, Uncle Sam is pointing at YOU to sign up for the military. During this time, the right thing to do if you were eighteen was to sign up for the military and the US did not hesitate to use propaganda to encourage such actions. Another piece of British propaganda mostly used in Canada, it shows Canada and Britain side by side fighting to win the war.
